
About the Project GreenHost
The GreenHost Project is a forward-thinking Erasmus+ initiative aimed at driving sustainable transformation in the European lodging sector. With a focus on empowering small and medium enterprises (SMEs), this project addresses the pressing need for eco-friendly practices while equipping industry leaders and staff with practical tools and knowledge.
Spanning over 30 months, GreenHost unites an international consortium of partners from Poland, Germany, Italy, Austria, and Bulgaria. By leveraging expertise in sustainability, vocational education, and digital solutions, GreenHost delivers innovative, scalable approaches to foster sustainable behaviors and organizational change in the lodging industry.
Objectives
- Engage lodging SMEs in the green economy transition with actionable toolkits and best practices.
- Support vocational education and training (VET) educators and SME leaders in building green skills and driving sustainable development.
- Foster behavior change among lodging staff and leadership through gamified learning experiences and inspiring real-world examples.
Key Outputs
GreenHost will produce a range of high-quality, open educational resources (OER) designed to support the lodging sector in its journey towards sustainability:
1. Good Practices Collection
A compilation of successful green initiatives implemented by lodging SMEs across Europe. This resource provides practical insights, strategies, and inspiration for adopting sustainable practices, all tailored to the specific challenges of the lodging industry.
2. GreenHost Gamification App
An innovative, web-based learning tool designed to build sustainability awareness and foster habit changes among lodging staff and leaders. Featuring missions, challenges, and interactive content, this app encourages behavioral shifts in a dynamic and engaging way.
3. Sustainability Toolkit
A comprehensive guide for SME leaders and VET educators, offering:
- Templates for assessing and planning sustainable transitions.
- Practical examples and tools for green change management.
- A compendium of teaching methodologies and resources for promoting eco-friendly practices.
4. Reports and Research
Detailed studies identifying competency gaps, industry needs, and customer expectations regarding sustainability. These findings provide the foundation for developing targeted solutions and strategies for green transformation.
